“I didn’t mean to, er, do whatever it is that I did,” said Bjorn, haphazardly following the Class 3’s lead to be open—friendlier. Although he wished someone would explain what just happened. Why Mr. Lan had appeared as though he’d faint. Why the Class 3’s intervention had qualified as a remedy.

Roar tilted his head toward the exit. “I’ll explain.”

I’d appreciate that. Bjorn looked to the owner who was smiling again, though a thin sheen of sweat glistened on his forehead. “If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact me.”

“Will you be at the next meeting?” asked Mr. Lan animatedly.

The dramatic shift in attitude astounded Bjorn. “Yes, sir. See you then.”

As he and the Class 3 walked out together, he heard Mr. Lan talk excitedly to the woman at the customer service counter, saying he might not have to emigrate after all.
