Bjorn recognized the plant as an orchid without any blooms. There’s a florist around here? 

As Roar closed the bag, Bjorn stepped back a bit. “What kind of orchid is it?” 

“I don’t know yet. That’s part of the fun.”

Smiling to himself, Bjorn withdrew a business card from his wallet and offered it. “Anyway, it’s my job to address Jubar concerns. No concern is ever moot. So if—.” 

Roar’s wary demeanor changed abruptly. “It’s been nice meeting you, Sergeant,” he said with a disgustingly polite grin. He suddenly assumed the aura of a career receptionist who didn’t have time for anybody else’s crap. “Thank you for taking the time to introduce yourself. I hope you have a nice day.” 

Blindsided by the dismissal, Bjorn stood mute with surprise, rejected business card in hand, as the beauteous man with the glasses leisurely collected his bags and strolled away.
